Aurora Cultural Arts District

Bringing a fresh sense of culture to the streets of Aurora, the Aurora Cultural Arts District is a non-profit organization that encourages local business owners and community members to get involved and help expand their creative sides.

12-Mile Stables

The beauty and grandeur of the Colorado countryside is wonderful to take in from the back of a horse, and you can arrange riding lessons, horse rentals, and even hayrides with 12-Mile Stables. If you have your own horse, look to their boarding stables for a great place to keep it.

Aurora Reservoir

Open all year round, the Aurora Reservoir is perfect for every kind of outdoor pursuit. You can walk, jog, or run around the 8.5-mile trail ringing the reservoir, or you can take to the water for some boating and fishing. If you’d prefer to slip beneath the surface, take the opportunity to scuba. Further activities include archery and paddle boarding — there’s something for everyone.

Shopping

Those who love to shop won’t ever feel the need to leave Aurora. Head to Arapahoe Crossing for close to 40 name brand stores across 460,000 square feet of shopping space. Other venues include the Aurora City Place shopping center, which is home to 45 different businesses, and the stores and boutiques along Havana Street.

Vintage Theatre Productions

Vintage Theatre Productions (VTP), presents everything from classic plays to cutting-edge immersive theatre. They even do classes, improv, and staged readings to entertain all manner of audiences. Launching in 2002, VTP has become immensely respected — shows have received several Henry Award nominations, Post Ovation Awards, Flombies, and Marlowe Awards.
